In a historic moment, the captivating artistry of Italy’s renowned Farnesina Collection has transcended borders, gracing Bikaner House for its first-ever international exhibition. The curated showcase, titled “The Grand Italian Vision: The Farnesina Collection,” opened its doors on Friday, mesmerizing art enthusiasts with a diverse selection of 72 significant artworks.

Esteemed art historian Achille Bonito Oliva, renowned worldwide for his expertise, curated the exhibition, which showcases the masterpieces of 63 celebrated artists. The collection proudly presents the works of influential creatives such as Carla Accardi, Afro, Enzo Cucchi, Arturo Martini, Alberto Burri, Mirko, Pietro Ruffo, Sandro Chia, and Fabio Mauri.

Among the stellar highlights of Italian contemporary art featured in this exhibition are two iconic pieces. The first, an avant-garde bronze sculpture titled ‘Unique Forms of Continuity in Space’ by Umberto Boccioni, encapsulates the essence of futurism. The second, ‘L’etrusco,’ crafted in gilded bronze by Michelangelo Pistoletto, is a stunning rendition of the renowned Etruscan statue.

Originating from the esteemed Palazzo della Farnesina in Rome, which houses the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this collection was meticulously assembled by the former secretary general, Umberto Vattani. With over 530 works by 280 artists, the collection serves as a testament to Italy’s rich artistic heritage.

The exhibition at Bikaner House not only celebrates Italy’s artistic prowess but also signifies the bridging of cultures and the global recognition of artistic brilliance. Patrons and art enthusiasts alike can revel in the sheer magnificence of these masterpieces until the exhibition concludes its awe-inspiring display.
